Overview

The Nagarkot-Changunarayan hike is a short and sweet hike for all the hikers who don’t have enough time for long trekking. Basically, Nagarkot is a hill station which is peaked at a height of 2,175m approximately. Nagarkot is mainly famous for the sunrise view of the Himalayas which includes Mt. Everest as well. Furthermore, numerous peaks located in eastern Nepal are also glanced from here. In addition to this, you’ll encounter jungles, villages ascend and descend trails, etc. Changu Narayan, an ancient Hindu temple, is located on Changu or Dolagiri, a high hilltop. It is Nepal's oldest temple. The Changu Narayan temple was built in the 2nd century during the Lichhavi Dynasty. It was rebuilt after a terrible fire in 1702. The temple was later designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979AD. It has cultural and historical importance basically in the lives of Hindus.
